French Flash Cards Matching Game
Instructions:
Below is a game I wrote up to help with memorization. It is a method that many have used for a long time before me, but I can say that I used it both in preparation for vocabulary exams and other areas. Here, I would like to use it as a tool to help memorize Scripture.
The way the game works is that the content is displayed in two columns. On the left will be several locations in the Bible, the title of a song, or the name of a Bible passage. On the right will be the content associated with these Scriptures, songs and Bible passages. The elements of each column are randomly arranged.
The way the cards work is that users are supposed to try to match the item title or location in the left column with its associated content on the right. Users can select an item by using 'clicking' on the associated cell with the content. When a user selects matching items, the two rows will be removed and the game will continue.
Just as with flash cards away from the computer, this game can continue as long as the user likes. There are three buttons to generate new content.
- The 'Start Over' Button will generate a game consisting of every card between the start and end select boxes.
- The 'Random 10' and 'Random 25' Buttons will generate a game with only 10 and 25 respective cards.
- The 'Get Answers' Button will open a new window that displays the flash cards in a printable format for users to learn scripture away from the computer.
- The 'Redo' Button will generate a game with the previous set of cards.
I hope you enjoy!
